TXSAT events are conducted only in venues that meet the full Texas Standard for certified athletic testing.
Campuses and districts have no operational responsibilities unless they choose to serve as the venue.
TXSAT provides all staffing, equipment, supervision, safety, and logistics.
Only venues that meet the requirements below are eligible to host a TXSAT event.
TXSAT events may only be hosted in:

No other venue types meet TXSAT’s safety, accuracy, or certification standards.
All TXSAT venues must support a full straight‑line sprint lane suitable for certified timing.
100‑yard straight‑line lane
Safe, level turf or grass
No obstacles, equipment, or cross‑traffic
Clear sideline space for staging and parent viewing
Full‑court gym (main or auxiliary)
40‑yard straight‑line lane
Clean, dry, unobstructed surface
Sideline or bleacher space for staging
If a venue cannot support these distances, it is not a TXSAT venue.
All venues must provide:
Space for 50–100 athletes
Adjacent to the testing lane
Clear visibility for TXSAT staff
Small footprint for roster verification
Near staging
Away from parent traffic
Separated from the testing lane
Does not interfere with timing equipment
Allows clear boundaries for safety
All testing surfaces must be:
Level
Dry
Free of hazards
Free of loose equipment
Free of cross‑traffic
Suitable for full‑speed sprinting
TXSAT reserves the right to reject any venue that does not meet safety standards.
No lightning within 10 miles
Heat index within safe limits
Wind conditions safe for equipment stability
Adequate lighting
Clean, unobstructed floor
Controlled access
The venue must provide:
Restroom access
Emergency exit access
AED location
Facility contact for emergencies
Campuses/districts are not required to provide:
Staff
Supervision
Volunteers
Equipment
Logistics support
TXSAT handles all operations.
TXSAT requires a small protected area for:
Equipment cases
Calibration
Video systems
Timing systems
This area must be:
10’ x 10’ minimum
Out of student traffic
Reserved for TXSAT staff only
TXSAT does not operate in:
Hallways
Cafeterias
Parking lots
Classrooms
Blacktops
Courtyards
Multi‑purpose rooms
Any space with cross‑traffic
Any space that cannot support a straight‑line sprint lane
This protects student safety and ensures certified accuracy.
